eckoWALLET: A Year of Achievements and Innovations
As we reach the midpoint of 2023, it's an opportune time to reflect on the progress and achievements of eckoWALLET, the robust Kadena-native wallet designed for seamless interaction with DApps on the Kadena network. This year has been marked by significant advancements, with the implementation of WalletConnectV2, Fiat-on-ramp, and NFT integration, all aimed at enhancing user experience when interacting with the eckoDAO product suite and promoting the adoption of the Kadena ecosystem.
Fiat-on-ramp: Simplifying the Purchase and Storage
In our continuous effort to make Kadena more accessible, we've implemented a Fiat-on-ramp feature, offering the lowest on-ramping fees across Kadena. This feature is made possible through our integration/partnership with Simplex, providing an end-to-end solution for the purchase and secure storage of Kadena Coins. Now, users can easily convert their fiat currency into Kadena Coins and store them securely in their eckoWALLET.
NFT Integration: Showcasing Your Favorite NFTs on Kadena
V2.6.3 introduced the integration of NFT’s to eckoWALLET. This feature allows users to display their favorite NFT’s on Kadena, adding a new dimension to the user experience. With the growing use cases of NFT’s, this feature not only aims to enhance the functionality of eckoWALLET but also supports the fundamental code framework to follow the growth of NFT’s as they mature, offering more advanced + unique services for their users.
Security Improvements: A Commitment to Trust and Safety
This year, we've taken significant strides to enhance the security features of eckoWALLET, ensuring that our users can interact with confidence and peace of mind.
Within the backend code we’ve been building on the previous external audit by Certik by conducting further ongoing internal audits to optimize our systems and processes. These internal audits allow us to identify and address potential vulnerabilities, reinforcing the robustness of our security infrastructure.
In addition to these audits, we've rolled out new features aimed at bolstering security on the user side. We introduced two-factor authentication, an extra layer of security that ensures only verified users can access their eckoWALLET accounts. We also implemented a password reset feature, allowing users to easily update their passwords and maintain the security of their accounts.
For our iOS users, we've integrated biometric authentication into the eckoWALLET app. This feature leverages Apple’s biometric technology, allowing users to access their wallets using their unique biological characteristics, such as facial recognition. This not only enhances security but also provides a seamless and convenient user experience.
UI/UX Updates: Tailoring the User Experience
This year, we've made significant strides in enhancing the user experience of eckoWALLET. Our focus has been on creating a user-friendly, aesthetically pleasing, and personalized interface that caters to the unique needs and preferences of our users.
One of the most significant milestones has been the integration of WalletConnectV2. This feature has greatly enhanced the interoperability between users and their DApps, allowing for a more seamless and efficient interaction. With WalletConnectV2, users can now connect their eckoWALLET to a wide range of DApps, further enhancing the user experience.
In addition to WalletConnectV2, we've made several updates to the eckoWALLET user interface. We introduced dark mode, a highly anticipated feature that allows users to customize their eckoWALLET interface to match their personal style. Recognizing that our users have diverse preferences, we went above and beyond to offer multiple themes, whether they prefer the sleekness of dark mode or the clarity of light mode.

These updates are designed to optimize and simplify the interactive experience with eckoGOV, our DAO governance platform. Voting Power Display: A clear and transparent view of their voting power accrued in Governance Mining.
- KDX Governance Mining in-app: Rewarding users for their active participation in governance, further incentivizing community involvement, all within eckoWALLET.
- Assets Charts: A visual representation of their assets, allowing for easier tracking and management of portfolios.
- .csv Exports: Export transaction history and other data in .csv format, simplifying record-keeping and reporting.
- Incoming Transactions: Providing users with a more comprehensive view of their account activity.
- UI/UX Updates: Continuously improving the user experience.
- Multi-Signature Wallets: Introducing multi-signature wallets, which require multiple approvals for transactions.
